Please Note:
This itinerary is subject to change based on availability, weather, and local coordination. While every effort is made to deliver the experience as planned, minor adjustments may occur to ensure the best possible trip flow.
This trip is considered moderate and includes several days at high altitude (especially in Cusco and Machu Picchu). While the pace of the itinerary is relaxed, you should be comfortable:
Walking for extended periods (up to 3–4 hours on activity days)
Navigating uneven or cobblestone terrain
Climbing stairs and hills, particularly during the Machu Picchu tour
Adjusting to changes in elevation ranging from 7,000–11,000 feet
There is downtime built into the schedule, and all activities are guided, but altitude and walking demands should be taken seriously. If you have concerns about physical readiness, we encourage you to consult a healthcare provider before booking.
Are rooms shared or private?
All accommodations are single occupancy by default. You’ll have your own room throughout the trip.
If you’d like to share a room with someone you know, you’re welcome to request a double-occupancy option at the time of booking or by emailing us. Availability and pricing adjustments will be confirmed individually.
How big is the group?
This is a small-group experience, capped at 8 travelers.
Keeping the group intimate allows for smoother logistics, better access to guides and experiences, and a more relaxed, personal atmosphere throughout the journey.
What type of hotels will we stay in?
We stay in carefully selected, centrally located 3–4 star hotels in each destination.
The focus is on comfort, cleanliness, strong service, and excellent location, so you’re close to the places you’ll be exploring and can easily enjoy your free time without long transfers or complicated transportation.
(Hotel names are shared privately with confirmed travelers closer to departure.)
What happens after I book?
Once your booking and deposit are complete, here’s what to expect:
You’ll receive a confirmation email with the next steps and important trip details
You’ll be invited to a short welcome & orientation call to go over logistics, answer any remaining questions, and get you fully set up
You’ll receive ongoing trip emails with packing guidance, travel tips, and key reminders
We’ll host three Zoom prep calls (around 90, 60, and 30 days before departure) so you can meet fellow travelers, review details, and feel confident heading into the trip.
You’ll never be left guessing. We stay in touch and guide you all the way to departure.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because trips require advance reservations and supplier commitments, our policy is as follows:
The $400 deposit is non-refundable
A 50% refund of payments (excluding deposit) may be requested for cancellations made more than 6 months before the trip start date
No refunds are available for cancellations made within 6 months of departure
If Out & Abroad cancels the trip for any reason, all payments are fully refunded
For this reason, travel insurance is strongly recommended and covered in more detail in the section below.
What happens if the trip is canceled?
If Out & Abroad cancels the trip, you will receive a full refund of all payments made, including your deposit.
